Documents you may need
The documents Uber asks for depend on your city, vehicle and personal circumstances. Use this page as a preparation list, then upload exactly what the Uber Driver app requests.

Proof of identity
Uber generally asks for a valid identity document. Official guidance has listed items such as an Australian or international passport, Australian birth or citizenship certificate, immigration card, refugee documentation, or a state photo card. The exact accepted list can depend on your vehicle type.
Driver licence where applicable
A driver licence is usually required for cars, scooters and motorbikes. It is not usually required for bicycle delivery. Licence class and whether a provisional or overseas licence is accepted depends on your state, vehicle and visa status.
Vehicle registration where applicable
Cars, scooters and motorbikes typically need current vehicle registration. Keep the document clear, complete and in your name or otherwise acceptable under Uber’s current rules.
Profile photo
You will usually need to upload a current photo of yourself. Use a clear, well-lit image that matches your identity documents.
Background check
Delivery people in Australia are generally required to pass a criminal background check. Uber currently uses National Crime Check (NCC). The result is usually sent to Uber after you complete the process.
ABN
Uber currently requires delivery people to provide an Australian Business Number. Enter it in the Driver app when asked. If you use a company, partnership or trust ABN, extra supporting documents may be needed.
Visa / work eligibility where applicable
You generally need the legal right to work in Australia. Uber may complete a VEVO check. Citizens, permanent residents and visa holders with work rights are treated differently from people whose visa does not allow work.
Other state-specific documents where applicable
Some locations or vehicle types can require extra items, translations, an International Driving Permit, or proof linking you to a business ABN. Follow the list shown in your own Uber Driver app, because it is tailored to your signup.
